Pasar Air Itam Laksa, Penang

If you ask 1000 of locals in Penang about where can I get the best Assam Laksa in Penang, I can guarantee you that 900 of them will said "near Kek Lok Si Temple". Actually the place is at Pasar Air Itam which is located at the bottom of Kek Lok Si Temple hill. If you cannot find the place, just ask the direction from any local at the area. They can easily pointed you to the location.

This is the place. No special notice board to indicate this place. So just locate where is the wet market and you can easily find him.
This is where all the ingredients and the true recipe came from. They are using Sardine fish to boil this gravy with long hours.
Look at their noodles. Like a mountain high! Amazingly they can finished them in one lunch.

Overall: 4/5 - Indeed the best Assam Laksa. The noodles are so tender and delicious. The gravy is full with Sardine meat. You will definitely finished off all of it and left nothing in the bowl. They were selling at RM2.00 per bowl and now they are selling at RM3.00 per bowl. The bowl is not that big so you will not hesitate to order another bowl.

Parking here is a pain when during the peak hours of the lunch time and during holidays. Their businees hours is starts from 11.00am until 3.00pm but sometimes depend on their mee or gravy. Any of them finish first, he will start packing up. My best advice is to be there before 12pm. You can get the parking and also you will not fight over with other customers due to limited seats available.
